Willow, the original lake on the Woodlands complex, boasts a rich history spanning over four decades. Nestled at the head of a picturesque natural valley, it’s surrounded by mature woodlands. The lake is fed by a small stream and numerous springs, ensuring a constant flow of oxygenated and nutrient-rich water.
The surrounding woods are a haven for birds and wildlife, creating a serene and peaceful atmosphere. This tranquil spot might well evoke childhood memories of enchanting storybook scenes from ‘Mr Crabtree Goes Fishing’. With an area of just shy of half an acre, Willow boasts eight pegs, with a maximum depth of around 5ft. The lake is stocked with a more traditional range of fish, including Roach, Rudd, Perch, Skimmer Bream, Gudgeon, and Crucian. Additionally, there are a few bronze Bream and Tench that can reach up to 4Lb. Effective baits for this lake include pellets and sweetcorn.
